Baby acne can be treated easily. Parents are suggested to wash the baby’s face with water and mild soap once in a day. Scrubbing of baby’s skin should be avoided. Never rub but instead pat it dry.
Babies’ skin should not be over washed as baby acne is not caused due to dirt. Only baby lotion should be used and no other type of baby oil or lotion should be applied as these products might worsen the baby acne problem.
Generally the common drug known as hydrocortisone, that is included in various creams is recommended to be used. The effective acne scar treatment for baby acne is an ionic colloidal solution containing silver.
It is safer and kills the bacteria causing baby acne. This solution can promote healthy skin growth and alleviate the uncomfortable itching by acne.
Precautions to be taken
Babies’ clothes that come in contact with him should be washed regularly. It includes baby’s blanket, towel, bed linens and clothes. These clothes should be washed with mild detergent. Pediatricians should be recommended if the condition turns severe.
The chemical or creams used for adults or for teenager’s acne should not be applied to baby acne. These are too strong medicine for the babies soft skin and, therefore, can cause itching and irritation.
The baby acne is not a genetic problem, but simply a hormonal reaction that takes place in babies’ body after the birth. These acnes are different from the adult’s or teenager’s acne.
